Sajdah Wendy Muhammad is the creator and developer of the Mind of An Entrepreneur brand that has Headquarters being at the historic home of Elijah Muhammad (Sajdah House). The brand currently produces a Broadcast Radio Show in Washington DC, authors and publishes books on mental strategies for navigating the world of business. The brand also focuses on helping members of marginalized communities open the pathways to wealth and abundance through owning and operating business and introducing much needed goods and services into their communities. Wendy has a story of disappointment and perseverance that most business women can relate to and she discovered how to make the success last. She climbed her way up from a struggling real estate agent to a self-made millionaire, a title not held by a lot of women let alone Black women. She managed to overcome the marginalization she faced and most importantly the mental blocks that always stopped her from reaching her full potential. Even though Wendy started off with seemingly a lot going on for her and the right foundations set she still found herself struggling. She left her home in Nebraska at 17 to go off to college like many other teens her age and got a dual degree BBA in Finance and Accounting from Iowa State University. She holds numerous business certifications and accomplishments in Finance, Accounting and Business. With all this and a good work ethic, determination and a wealth of experience in the corporate world, Wendy still struggled. She even found herself homeless three times! After years of working hard and failing to finding lasting stability, Wendy finally discovered what she and so many others who have been marginalised need to do to create the right mind set for success. Today not only does she have the Mind of an Entrepreneur brand but she is spearheading the development of a community hospital in Grand Bassa County Liberia and two other hospital and hotel developments in Lagos and Abuja, Nigeria among her many successful projects. She wrote the book “Mind of an Entrepreneur” to share vital mental tools that you need to succeed as an entrepreneur that she discovered that aren’t covered in any Business School curriculum. Dr. Shawanda S. Moore is the CEO of Royal Financial Services, Royal Tax Box and Royal Outreach. She was born in raised in New Orleans, Louisiana and currently resides there. Dr. Moore has survived a struggle of being homeless, single teenage parent, and has suffered many losses at an early age including the deaths of her mother and father. Despite the challenges in life, she continued on her journey to obtain 5 college degrees with the completion of her Ph.D being the highest. She is a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority. Dr. Moore recently tossed her business partner who is also her son, Shaun Moore at the age of 21 in 2020. Patrice McLaurin is a Best Selling author and an image activist. She sat on the character education advisory council for the nonprofit, because I said I would, and she served as Subject Matter Expert in the development of Everfi’s online Black History Curriculum, 306- Continuing the Story. She has worked to empower and enhance the lives of our youth for the past two decades. Patrice has authored 5 children’s books. Her first children’s book, “Have You Thanked an Inventor Today?” is an Amazon Best Seller and was acclaimed by Microsoft as a book that informs and inspires STEM. It amplifies Black Excellence by highlighting different inventions, created by Black people that children may use throughout their day. Her follow up book, “Have You Thanked a KidVentor Today?” is another great STEM read that focuses on the wonderful contributions of child inventors. Her third book, I Am Because I Choose is an engaging picture book that can easily be used to help facilitate the core competencies of Social Emotional Learning. Her fourth book, Thank an Inventor Coloring and Activity Book is the final book in her Thank an Inventor Series and provides an opportunity for children to learn through play. On my 50th born day (2017) I took my 1st (of many) solo road trips to an adorable waterfront Airbnb on The Chesapeake Bay. While I was there re-connecting with God, The Universe, nature and most importantly myself, I remembered how much I enjoyed writing, talking, sharing information, giving encouragement and positive energy to folks and BOOM my purpose and passion became crystal clear. "Kandidly Kristin: The Blog" was born and that blog has since morphed into The Kandid Shop Podcast. The mission/purpose of this podcast was and is to give everyone who wishes to be heard, a safe, welcoming, bully-free space to speak "kandidly' about any subject or topic and give those who may need or want to hear real talk about a particular topic/subject, a space for that too! I can discuss a wide range of topics that are real, relevant and often under-discussed OR not discussed honestly and kandidly! Listen to a few episodes, take what resonates with you and leave what doesn't for someone else! As the Founder of Novae, Reco McCambry has made his mark in the financial services industry and direct sales as one of the youngest and most successful entrepreneurs in the space. Crystal D. Mayo is an actress, writer and educator who is a Native New Yorker born and raised in the South Bronx.. Her urban upbringing is a relentless source of inspiration in her writing. Her experiences are highlighted in her upcoming memoir, The Evolution of Me which captures her lifeline of rich and telling childhood recollections told through poetry and prose. Crystal’s repertoire of writing spans from memoirs and poetry to children’s books. Her literary contributions have been published in the Bronx Memoir Project Volumes three, four and five which will be available for purchase this summer.The African Voices tribute to Ntozake Shange and Our Voices Our Stories, an anthology of Writings Advancing, Celebrating, Embracing and Empowering Girls and Women of Color through the National Girls and Women of Council Inc. Crystal’s short story, Wicked Blues will be featured in The Connecticut Literary Anthology this fall. She made her debut as a playwright this spring with her monologue. Mother to Son published in an anthology through New World Theater. Her latest nonfiction story entitled “Wicked Blues” was published most recently in the Connecticut Literary Anthology for 2021. Crystal holds a masters in elementary education and is the founder and artistic director of My Daughter My Legacy. This entrepreneur’s mission statement is to empower youth to discover their voice and vision through literacy and the arts. She teaches students how to write and perform spoken word in addition to creating collaborative performance pieces.
