Mann Robinson, is an American Film Director, Producer, Actor, Author, Businessman & Entrepreneur. In 2007, Mann evolved from a rapper by writing his first full feature film script. He was the Democratic nominee for one of the state's two U.S. Senate seats in the November 4, 2008 general election, and was defeated. Erik is now a Deputy Sheriff with the Fulton County (GA) Sheriff’s Office. Previously, Erik was the Director of Policy with the American Civil Liberties Union of Mississippi. I am a Certified Executor Advisor and have been in the financial planning industry for more than 35 years. The pandemic triggered conversations with close family members about their end-of-life plans and preferences. It is probably the first time they had talked to family members about topics like finances, health, and legal plans. More than 70 percent of Americans 50 and over believe a will is the most important document to have in place before someone dies, but only 49 percent of this group actually has one. My message is to show people how to leave a legacy, not a legacy and a mess.

Recommendation: I advocate using Dorothy Vaughan, a NASA mathematician and computer programmer, and the person played by Oscar-winner Octavia Spencer in the widely acclaimed film, Hidden Figures, as a role model. Ms. Vaughn developed and successfully executed employment and career strategies. Quite simply, she was proactive. Get to Know Janéy Tate Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Hy-Lo News Janéy Tate is a highly motivated, self-driven media entrepreneur. Her career in news began 10 years ago as an intern for the Miami Herald and CBS 4 News Miami. She fell in love with journalism and the media industry while interning at these places and decided that this is what she wanted to do for the rest of her life. Her upbringing in Miami Gardens helped shape the journalist and woman she is today. Her mother, grandmother, and aunts raised her to be a giving considerate person and to live a life of integrity. They also instilled in her the values to respect all people and to go after her dreams relentlessly. Janéy knows those life lessons and values from her family contributed to her being a strong reporter and businesswoman. Janéy is the second oldest of four children, who were raised by a strong and loving single mother. She grew up in the neighborhood of Carol City and attended high school for three years at Miami Carol City Senior High where she was a top track and field athlete and honor student. Track and Field allowed her to cultivate her zeal to be competitive and present her best work. In 2006, Janéy graduated from Miami Northwestern Senior High with honors and went on to study Mass Communications and Journalism at Florida International University. She graduated in 2012 from FIU and shortly after landed her first job as a general assignment reporter for the Bradenton Herald covering two municipalities. While in college, Janey competed in the Miss America Organization pageant system for a chance to win scholarship money. She went on to win the title of Miss Miami Gardens 2011 and was a top 15 finalist for the 2011 Miss Florida Pageant. Her pageant experience would open the door to the journalism field as one of the hosts for a competition was an anchor at the local CBS Miami and recommended Janey for an internship at the station. Janey’s many experiences have allowed her to have a deep knowledge of South Florida’s political, business, and social scenes and how they affect the Black community. She has written for all of South Florida’s major publications including the Miami Times, Miami Herald, MIA & Legacy Magazines, and the Westside Gazette. Before becoming a full-time entrepreneur, Janey also worked for two and a half years at iHeartMedia Miami to gain valuable experience in media sales, account management, marketing, branding, radio production, and event activations. After years of being frustrated with the lack of coverage of the Black community and hearing people’s grievances with local media, Janey decided to create a solution with Hy-Lo News. The news site serves to provide the community with hyper-local news and content geared toward South Florida's Urban Millennials. In 2015, Hy-Lo News began as a Facebook-based blog and within a year grew to become a legitimate news site. Janey is determined to make Hy-Lo News a success and has made major personal financial sacrifices because building a sustainable media business is her priority. During this pandemic, she enrolled in the Digital Undivided START Pre-Acellarator, BizHacks Academy Digital Marketing Course, and Empire University’s business Bootcamp to further her knowledge and understanding of running a successful business. Janey believes one can never stop improving and will continue to educate herself in an ever-evolving media landscape.

On my 50th born day (2017) I took my 1st (of many) solo road trips to an adorable waterfront Airbnb on The Chesapeake Bay. While I was there re-connecting with God, The Universe, nature and most importantly myself, I remembered how much I enjoyed writing, talking, sharing information, giving encouragement and positive energy to folks and BOOM my purpose and passion became crystal clear. "Kandidly Kristin: The Blog" was born and that blog has since morphed into The Kandid Shop Podcast. The mission/purpose of this podcast was and is to give everyone who wishes to be heard, a safe, welcoming, bully-free space to speak "kandidly' about any subject or topic and give those who may need or want to hear real talk about a particular topic/subject, a space for that too! I can discuss a wide range of topics that are real, relevant and often under-discussed OR not discussed honestly and kandidly! Dr. Shawn Council, Esquire is the lead managing attorney for her business-oriented law firm located in Metro Atlanta Georgia. Attorney Council, born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, didn’t know what a lawyer was when her mother, and a few ladies at a local hairdresser’s beauty parlor, exclaimed, “she should be a lawyer” after she “interrogated” each woman as they were getting their hairdo perfected by the beautician. Along the way, she obtained a Doctorate in Law & Policy at Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. I am a cannabis chef, connoisseur and advocate who believes in the medicinal, recreational and financial power of the cannabis plant. Anthony has lived, studied, written about, and taught about diversity realities throughout my life. He has presented and facilitated in academic and corporate settings from around the world. Anthony holds a B.A. in psychology from Willamette University (Salem, OR) and a M.A. in Christian education from Scarritt Graduate School (Nashville, TN). He has recently earned the post-master’s Specialist of Education (EdS) degree in Culture, Cognition and Learning Process from Middle Tennessee State University (Murfreesboro, TN). Anthony has designed and facilitated diversity workshops since 2004. He has lectured and led workshops in corporate, community, and academic settings, including Harvard University. He is a contributor to Rhetoric, Race and Religion. Since 2020, in the wake of the George Floyd murder, Anthony has led race listening conversations for a variety of organizations to help process the cultural, historical, societal and personal moment. Anthony’s diversity discussions took a personal turn when he began documenting conversations with his white grandchildren regarding race. LaToya Wilson (AKA L.R.) is a native of Mississippi. She wears many hats for the roles of lead media correspondent, blogger, author, empowerment coach, and motivational speaker. Despite these roles, her best roles are as Mom and Nana. At the tender age of 16, LaToya began her motherhood journey to her daughter and quickly married for the first time. Years later, she had three more children with her second husband. Challenges led to a divorce. LaToya found herself struggling with depression, addiction and more. She is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Supervisor (LCPC-S) in Maryland. Ms. Langston works full time as a Clinical Coordinator at an outpatient facility in Brooklyn, MD where she provides therapeutic services to with co-occurring disorders. She also works as a part time mental health therapist at the Renaissance Christian Counseling Center where she provides therapy to adolescents, and adults. Ms. Langston uses an eclectic theoretical approach consisting of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness based and Strength based techniques. She is excited to announce the release of her first ever children's book Antsy Agatha. Joy Jones is a trainer and author of several books including FEARLESS PUBLIC SPEAKING and the novel, JAYLA JUMPS IN. She is also the founder of the multicultural Double Dutch team, DC Retro Jumpers. The team served as cultural ambassadors, teaching Double Dutch in Russia.
